My research asks how a drone can make good decisions on its own: perceiving its surroundings, weighing options under uncertainty and energy limits, and acting with a reason it can show. Solar-electric flight is the complementary line, extending endurance so the decisions have time to matter.
Design and analysis of a solar-powered quadcopter, written for my BEng in Aeronautical Engineering at Nanchang Hangkong University. It is the honest starting point of the parity question the current software now answers reproducibly: can a solar multirotor ever harvest as much energy as it consumes? The reproducible answer is no, and the reason why shapes the research.

Autonomous UAV decision-making, solar-electric endurance, counter-UAS concepts, applied aerodynamics, aviation data systems.
Seven open-source Python projects, each with a full automated test suite, continuous integration, and a public v1.0.0 release. 121 tests across the seven projects. Every number quoted on this site can be checked against the code.
Solar UAV endurance simulator. Simulates a solar drone across 24 hours with real solar geometry, panel and battery models, and momentum-theory propulsion, then solves for charge-consumption parity. Headline result: a 3 kg quadcopter with 1 square metre of panel harvests 1,567 Wh against 6,613 Wh consumed over a Dhaka solstice day, and the parity solver shows even tripled sunlight cannot close the gap. Grows out of my 2022 undergraduate thesis.
Onboard autonomy simulation. A drone in a grid world senses obstacles within a limited radius, plans with A*, replans in flight when the world changes, and follows a battery-reserve rule that sends it home when continuing is unsafe. Every decision is logged with its reason.
Counter-drone defence simulation for research and education. Noisy detection, Kalman filter tracking, a documented threat score, proportional-navigation guidance for a low-cost interceptor, and seeded Monte Carlo analysis: intercept probability 0.795, USD 550 per successful intercept against USD 55,031 for a missile-class system using publicly reported estimates.
International Standard Atmosphere and aerodynamics utilities. Atmosphere state to 51 km, airspeed conversions, Reynolds and Mach, lift, drag, and stall speed. Reproduces the official ISA table values.
METAR aviation weather decoder. Raw airport weather reports parsed into structured data and plain English. Pure Python standard library, zero dependencies.
NACA 4-digit airfoil generator and analyzer. Geometry, thin-airfoil theory, Selig and CSV export, plots. Documents openly where thin-airfoil theory departs from wind-tunnel data, and why.
Multirotor mission feasibility. Waypoints, polygon geofence checks, energy estimates against battery and reserve, and a FEASIBLE, MARGINAL, or INFEASIBLE verdict naming the binding constraint.
